Captain Charles Scott is the Deputy Regional Director of Operations for DIA CIO at United States Southern Command Headquarters in Miami, Florida. He was Born on October 6, 1997 in Denver Colorado. Scott attended the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, graduating in 2020 with a degree in Economics and a minor in German. During his time at the Academy, he excelled both academically and athletically as the starting punter for the Academy’s football team from 2017 through 2020.

After graduating from the Air Force Academy, Scott continued his educational and athletic careers as a graduate-transfer at the University of Alabama. There, he pursued a master's degree in operations management while excelling as the football team’s starting punter during the 2020-2021 season. That year, the team achieved historic success, winning the Southeastern Conference Championship, the Rose Bowl, and the National Championship on their way to an undefeated 13-0 season amid a global pandemic. During his time at Alabama, Charles met his wife, Riley, who was a track star for the University. Riley is now an English teacher for Speakers of Other Languages and is well respected in her field for her creative teaching techniques and curriculum development. Scott's parents, John and Mary, reside in Denver, Colorado, where they have been a constant source of support and inspiration.

Following his time at Alabama, Scott reported to Kessler Air Force Base, Mississippi for Cyberspace Operations training. Upon completion, he reported to Eglin Air Force Base, Florida where he began his career at the 96th Communications Squadron. Initially serving as the OIC for the Plans Branch. Because of his initiative and leadership skills, he was promoted to Flight Commander of the Plans and Resources Flight, overseeing 70 military, civilian, and contractor personnel within a month of arrival at Eglin AFB. His responsibilities included managing the squadron's budget, overseeing base-wide cybersecurity, planning future Eglin communications infrastructure, and managing frequency operations within the entire Gulf of Mexico. In less than a year, Scott was offered the Flight Commander position for the Operations Flight, where he led 250 military, civilian, and contractor personnel. His flight was responsible for operating and maintaining the $70.5 million network at Eglin. His leadership and strategic vision were instrumental in ensuring the network's efficiency and security. Scott played a crucial role at Eglin Air Force Base in educating base leadership on his team’s mission impact, resulting in receiving the funding and support required to remove spectrum interference across the 313,000 square mile Area of Responsibility and ensuring the safety for 84 SpaceX missions worth $5.2 billion.

While assigned to United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) in Miami, Captain Scott’s leadership was pivotal during Operation ABSOLUTE RESOLVE, which led to the successful capturing of Venezuelan Dictator, Nicholas Maduro. Tasked with establishing the information technology framework for the new Crisis Action Group, he directed an undermanned team to build a fully functional, four-million-dollar operations center in under ninety-six-hours. His team installed over ninety secure workstations and multiple secure video teleconferencing systems, which were instrumental to the mission's success. Captain Scott's exemplary performance underscores his ability to deliver mission-critical capabilities under extreme pressure, directly enhancing operational readiness and achieving impactful results for national security objectives.
