Sergeant Alahia Mejia enjoys time with family and friends, maintaining a disciplined fitness routine, and outdoor activities such as kayaking and beach outings. She also actively volunteers at her church and local community events, reflecting her commitment to service beyond the uniform. Sergeant Mejia enlisted in the United States Air Force in December 2019 and, after completing technical training as a Knowledge Management Technician, began her career as a Command Records Manager at Shaw Air Force Base. She transferred to the United States Space Force in 2021 and was assigned to Vandenberg Space Force Base, where she strengthened her expertise in records management while developing advanced cyber skills, leading to her selection for Cyber Warfare Operator training. Now serving as a Defensive Cyber Operator with the 262nd Cyber Squadron at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, she leads critical cyber defense operations supporting National Reconnaissance Office launch missions, ensuring 24/7 protection of vital network infrastructure. Her technical excellence has directly enhanced mission assurance and national security while simultaneously pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems and holds certifications including CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA CySA+.
