Information Systems Technician Senior Chief Petty Officer

Senior Chief Mohamed Alshibani was raised in San Bernardino County, California, and enlisted in the United States Navy in January 2006. Following Basic Training, he attended Information Systems Technician “A” School at Training Support Center Great Lakes, Illinois.
In July 2006, he reported to USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76) in San Diego, California, as a Communications Technician. During this tour, he advanced to Petty Officer Second Class, completed one Western Pacific (WESTPAC) deployment, two surge deployments, and earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, and Communication Watch Officer qualifications.
Upon completion of his first sea tour, he reported to Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Pacific (NCTAMS PAC) in Wahiawa, Hawaii, serving as a Technical Control Watch Stander. There, he earned his Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist qualification and qualified as Technical Control Chief of the Watch (TCCOW). Notably, he played a key role in one of the Navy's largest communications transitions, relocating operations from Building 261 to the current Building 500. During this tour, he also met his wife, Melissa, a Hawaii native.
In January 2013, he returned to sea duty aboard USS O’KANE (DDG 77) out of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He completed another WESTPAC deployment and advanced to Petty Officer First Class. In October 2015, he deployed as an Individual Augmentee (IA) to Djibouti, Africa, for one year. During this deployment, he was selected for advancement to Chief Petty Officer and celebrated the birth of his first son, Roman.
Following his IA assignment, Senior Chief Alshibani transferred to Commander, Third Fleet (COMTHIRDFLT) in San Diego, California, in 2017. He served as the NCCC Leading Chief Petty Officer (LCPO) and THIRDFLT SATCOM Manager, serving as a key player in the planning and execution of RIMPAC 2018. During this tour, he and his family welcomed their second son, Rio.
In 2020, he reported to USS MICHAEL MONSOOR (DDG 1001) in San Diego, where he assisted in the development of the Total Ship Computing Environment (TSCE) and major advancements to the Communications and Combat Systems suite. In 2022, he advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer and assumed the role of Combat Systems Department LCPO.
Currently, Senior Chief Alshibani serves as the Senior Enlisted Leader for Hopper Global Communications Center Pacific Detachment in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
His personal awards include multiple Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, Navy Achievement Medals and various unit awards.
