Mr. David R. Reeves III
Chief Information Security Officer, Army National Guard
Dave Reeves is currently the Chief Information Security Officer for the Army National Guard. Prior to his current position he held the position of Chief of Cybersecurity for the Army National Guard taking the position after retiring from a 27-year U.S. Army career. He earned a B.S. in Telecommunications from the University of Florida and a M.S. in Governmental Information Leadership from the National Defense University (NDU) College of Information and Cyberspace (CIC) and is a current PhD candidate in Business and Data analytics with a concentration in information systems security and privacy at the Pamplin School of Business at Virginia Tech. He earned post graduate certifications in Chief Information Officer and Information Technology Program Management from the NDU CIC, Criminal Counter Terrorism Intelligence from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Academy and Seaport Security/International Maritime Law from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and industry certifications as Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified Data Privacy Security Engineer (CDPSE). Mr. Reeves is a graduate of Army Command and General Staff College, US Army Air Defense Artillery Course, U.S Missile Defense Agency Ballistic Missile Defense Systems Course and the Signal Captains Career and Basic Courses. Along with more traditional military assignments Mr. Reeves filled the following positions: Chief, Florida (FL) Department of Law Enforcement, Joint Seaport Inspection Team, Florida Counterdrug; IT security lead/lead Criminal Intelligence Analyst, FL Counterdrug; G6/Lead military Criminal Intelligence Analyst, U.S. Marshalls/North Florida High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area; FL National Guard Hurricane Response forward EOC lead. Dave’s wife is a U.S. Army Colonel in the Army, he has a 22-year-old daughter graduating from the University of Florida on May 2, 2026, a 20-year-old daughter studying at the College of William and Mary, a 17-year-old step-daughter in the 11 grade and a 12-year-old step-son in the 6th grade.
